Call for entries – Ornamentisimas

Our winter holiday season show in the Stone Space from 15 December 2011 to 6 January 2012 will be an exuberant display of decorative art to lift the winter spirits.  We are putting the call out widely among artists. Everyone is welcome to submit one or more pieces. The work can be wall or ceiling hung or free standing. Work can reflect any winter festivity from the Solstice, through Christmas, St Tephens and New Year to the Three Kings and Twelfth Night.

Submission will be by hand delivery only to the Stone Space 2 to 5 on Saturday 10 Dec, 2 to 4 on Sunday 11 Dec, 4 to 8 on Monday 12 Dec. 
The cost to submit work will be £5 per item with proceeds going towards the running of our volunteer run space.

  • Attach Your name, contact phone number / email /postal address
  • Name of the piece
  • Description of the materials
  • Selling Price (if you wish to sell the work on our website)
  • Your bio (no more than 100 words)
  • Please attach or enclose all fixing materials, lights, adaptors, extensions securely.

Works will be selected on Tuesday 13 Dec 2011. We will contact all successful artists on Wednesday 14 Dec to let you know if your work will be in the show.
We will need electronic copies of the information you have given us on the label for our show leaflets.

Work will be taken down on 6 January 2012 and must be collected on 7 January 2012 2 to 5 pm.

We will let you know on 14 Dec 2011 if your work is not selected. You can collect your work on 15 Dec 2012 2 to 8pm or 7 January 2012 2 to 5 pm.

All submissions must be ready to hang, complete with fixings, hooks, scews. The maximum width dimensions for wall pieces should be 40cms and the maximum height is 2.10 meters. All ceiling and floor pieces should be aligned vertically rather than horizontally and must be no more than 40 by 40cms of  floor/ceiling contact area, maximum height is 2.30 metres.
Safety: low voltage decorative lighting may be incorporated. Lighting should conform to the relevant british safety standard and should be accompanied the original packaging and information. 

All artists should consider and reduce the risk of flamability of their work.
